About Sister Patricia
Sister Patricia is a Catholic nun from the Franciscan Order (TOR). She was born in Rwanda in 1959 and started her religious life in 1985.
From 1994 to 1999, she was living in her religious motherhouse in Belgium. When she went back to Rwanda, she found a terrible situation of poverty that had been brought about by the war and genocide. Spontaneously, she began to help all the needy, especially the vulnerable children, such as the many helpless orphans.
She currently has in her care over 200 children for whom she provides shelter, food, clothing, medical care, education and all other needs according to her capabilities as Our Lord and Savior allows her to do.
Sister is currently focusing her activities and energy on self sufficiency by considering projects that can generate income and help families, such as farming projects, wood working, handicrafts, and raising cattle, chickens, rabbits, goats, bees and pigs.
With the supprt of volunteers, especially through Bridge to Rwanda, some projects have been acomplished and are helping a lot. However, there is still much to be done especially to help people to know God by keeping them united and working for their every day life improvement through a new evangelization program which she has started in the Ngororero District.
